The State University of Zanzibar (SUZA) is the only public university in Zanzibar established by Act No. 8 of the House of Representatives of 1999. Since its inception in 2002 it has been expanding in academic programmes as well as student enrolment. Its vision is to be the most preferred University in the Eastern Africa.
SUZA invites applications from suitably qualified and competent Tanzanians to be considered to fill the following vacant posts.
1. Lecturer/ Assistant Lecturer of Kiswahili language (One post)
2. Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer of Tourism (One post)
3. Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer of English language (Two posts)
4. Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer of Business Administration/Entrepreneurship (Two posts)
5. Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer of Early Childhood Education (One post)
6. Driver (One post)
1. Lecturer/Assistant Lecturers (Kiswahili language, Tourism, English language, Business Administration/Entrepreneurship and Early Childhood Education)

i. Holders of Ph.D/Masters Degree in relevant areas of study with a GPA of not less than 3.5 Or Equivalent at undergraduate level. Prior experience in University level teaching is an added advantage.
ii. Applicants must have very good command of the English language.
iii. Basic skills in Microsoft office application.
Duties and Responsibilities
i. To undertake Academic teaching, Research and Consultancy services to the Public and Private Communities.
ii. To perform other University duties and responsibilities as may assigned to him/her by Senior officials.
2. Driver
A holder of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE/Form IV) with VIP Driving Course Certificate or VETA Trade Test Certificate; should have not less than two years of working experience and must be a holder of combined driving license – Classes A, C and D.
Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Drives institutional vehicles.
(ii) Maintains logbooks.
(iii) Responsible for safe-keeping of the vehicle and tools entrusted to him/her.
(iv) Maintains disciplined behaviour and proper conduct in rendering services to his/her assignees.
(v) Maintains cleanliness of the vehicle and tools.
(vi) Reports promptly any defect or problems detected in the vehicle.
(vii) Performs administrative duties such as dispatching documents/letters, collecting mail, etc.
(viii) Observes and complies with the rules, regulations and laws of the State University of Zanzibar.
(ix) Performs any other duties assigned by his/her supervisors.
